I am a big fan of the svt40, with the only exception being the ultra loud muzzle break. Last time I shot the rifle at a gun range everyone left quickly after I arrived :). Well I came up with a solution others may find useful, a cap over the muzzle break. Now the noise is like any other rifle and my fellow range shooters don't have to run away. If anyone is interested in a cap for their svt40 let me know, I may be able to help.

Everyone left quickly after you started shooting your SVT-40? The regulars at my range must be made of sterner stuff, but the next time
some new young guys are horsing around, I will see if some extended rapid fire will chase them away.

You also decreased your accuracy, but looking slick is probably more important for you.

so a cap on the outside, and a tube on the inside do the same job, but the internal one will decrease accuracy? how so?

nice that you get personal right away. I built one of these a long time ago that is INTERNAL and it worked very very well, and did not decrease accurcey

for anyone who is interested, this worked well, and you don't know its even there

Learn your manners and you will get the full respect from me.

learn my manners? well maybe saying that your design is ugglyer then mine was intolerable to you , my deepest apologys.

it wasn't ment to say your work was inferior or anything in any way, and was not ment to be a personal attack.

I made both an inside and outside sleeve, and found out that the outside one had better accuracy. I also consulted with a mechanical engineer who said that made sense. I prefer an inside sleeve in terms of aesthetics but not when it decreases accuracy.

I bet this does not fall into that category dude,

And please give us your legal resumé, Mr. Chief Justice.

He said it still sounds like a regular Rifle no sense in bringing up section 84 (lame).

All that is necessary is to demonstrate that the sound is increased when the device is removed, not that it is relatively similar to non-braked rifles. Matter of fact, if one were only using comparisons, it would be to other SVTs of un-modified design.

Don't get me wrong; I would like the option. But with the OP seeming to offer to send you one (or at least directions for one), I think he should very carefully consider the ramifications.
