Hey,

Picked up an SVT40 with a minty bore that seems to be putting shots out there to the far right. I checked the muzzle break on the end and the bullets aren't hitting on the inside of it at all and I am really puzzled as to why this is happening.

I snugged up the stock fit and it is nice and tight. The barrel doesn't seem to be touching anywhere in the stock before I put the handguard and heat shield back on either. The front sight is pushed almost all the way over so that the base of the front sight is almost flush with the base of the muzzle guard on the left side. I don't have much more room to move it and it still seems to be a couple of inches right of POA at 50 yards. How far can you push the front sight before it becomes too loose in the dovetail? It looks very strange as it is right now. I will try and post some pictures when I get home tonight.

Is there anything else that I can check for that is making it shoot this far to the right?

Thanks,

Ian

If the dovetail is tight, you can drift the sight a bit more, you should be fine.

shine a light through the muzzle brake ,and check the crown for damage and carbon build up. if this don't work you may have to remove the muzzle brake bayonet attachment assemble. check to make sure the bolt through the action (side to side) is tight .
