- Gadgets that are nice to have, need to have, and useless to have (but I had to buy it to show you)
- Tools that you can make yourself instead of buying, tools that you can have buddies (owe you favors) make up for you
- Stripping the boomstick (you will be surprised at what I can show you)
- Assembling the boomstick, and what to look for so that worthwhile tweaks can be or should be made
- Tweaks that work, tweaks that don't work, expensive tweaks so yer #### does not fall off
- Useless tweaks unless you have more money that shooting ability (many stories to follow at the clinic)
- Common pitfalls, expensive tweaks that work, more ways to ensure that yer #### don't fall off
- Lunch and then tweaking in the afternoon, shimming, pounding out more shims (all hands on activities)

EESA will be firing up the fully stocked kitchen to provide a lunch for $5 per person. There is also a mcdonalds within a 10 minute drive (Aylmer). Expect some good eatins (burgers, fries and the like) for a pretty good price at the club though!

Non-EESA members CAN SHOOT as my guest the day of the event for free :D So long as they are supervised by a club member (me). Range rules must be followed (obviously) :p

Um .. there has been some questions regarding barrel changes at this event. We have access to a steel work bench, and I believe we have access to a vice (as well as an attendee will be bringing one down) but I have yet to get the okay to drill holes into the bench to mount it. Keep your eyes open for an update but I believe we should be able to do barrel changes (with Hungry's blessing of course).

I believe that's it! Hopefully I haven't forgotten to post anything.

EDIT - feel free to visit the club website here! --> http://eesa.ca/

Do ya get to test fire them after the tweaking?? :D

Hungry here: Is the pope a nazi ? Sorry, I could not resist. The old answer of, "Is a bear catholic? Does the pope xhit in the woods?" was rather old and stale. LOL :D

I booked the Friday off from work before the clinic :D Figure it'll give me time to set up without feeling rushed.

Gotta find a reason to use up those silly days off before I loose 'em!

I've got all my tools ! Now slushee is working on the vise part for Friday and life being great, we can do some rebarreling. I've also got a receiver wrench and barrel vise blocks.
This is getting exciting.

Cheers,
Barney

So we have a bench made of 1/2" plate steel that should be up to the job for barrel changes! Only thing is its pretty much immovable and is out behind the indoor handgun range. This will mean that barrel changes will have to be done out doors (lets all pray to the weather gods!!)

One of the attendee's is bringing a vice and hopefully something that can drill through the 1/2" steel

Otherwise, everything looks good! I'll be out at the range periodically making sure the tables are set up but for the most part, everything else rests in the hands of Hungry :p

Now to go scour the ranges for once fired brass

Okay, blogging time. It's 1515 hrs and all the M14 clinic people are test firing their rifles at the ranges. I'm cleaning up the log cabin here at the EESA facility. Life is good. We must have shimmed about 6 rifles and then tightened up at least 3 (maybe 4) op rod guides on to their respective barrels. Then we also installed a USGI barrel on to a Norinco M14 receiver, so people had a chance to see what is involved in the rebarreling process.

Lots of fun, eh? I'm having a great time, but I'm exhausted (and happy as hell) , tapped out, and smiling. We had a super learning time.

How did the rest of you find it? Learn anything new?

Are you sure your dicks are not gonna fall off now ?

Many thanks go to Slushee for hosting a great show. Lots of kudos to the club executive for cooking up some burgers, hotdogs and sausages for lunch. Hey, you cannot beat freshly cut french fries cooked up in front of you. Kinda like visiting the chip wagon when it's parked at your Gun Club's clubhouse. :D

I cannot stop thanking all the CGNutters who did come out to learn and also share some of their experiences (and tools, too).

Thanks for TLBloggins for bringing some spare M14 parts and selling the stocks and handguards to other new M14 addicts. Just the goods alone are well priced, and to top things off - NO Mailing costs !! That is always a bonus!!

Wow, am I ever excited for the Edmonton Clinic!

Hey Sosa..... you ready for a long, fun-filled Saturday ??

+1 to the above!

So much fun. So many new contacts. Everyone was great and I had a blast!

Thanks goes out to Hungry who's driving like a wild man home as I write this! He was as watchful as ever and made us all do our own work to make sure we actually learned what we talked about.

One of the best day's I've had in an awefully long time.

2000 hrs now and I'm home. 3 hrs to drive back to the 'Hood. I'm exhausted by happy as hell since everyone learned new things. Now I've got 2 more weeks to get ready , pack and fly to Edmonchuk!

Yeeeeeha
