are they available in 5 inch barrels? since the government decided that 4 inches is too short for me maybe a restricted only version of this classic is available?on s&s 's website it semms only 4 inch are available but maybe in the used market i may be able to find one, or not. please someone give me hope.

They have been available in 5 inch length at various times, the RCMP issued them with a 5 inch barrel for many years. The M10 has been produced continuously for 100 years, so there's quite a few out there.

so my best bet is to go the used way? i think i will post an ad on the ee. any idea of what i should be expecting to pay for it?

Around $400 IMO for one in good condition

I think the last one I saw was slightly more than that, but give or take $100 or so for a truly mint version.

They seem to be running in the $500 range depending on condition, barrel length, shipping (included or not) etc.
