SW model 17 opinions

I would like to find any opinions on a SW model 17.

I have three pre-model 17's, one pre-model 18 and two model 18's. . They're number one in my books and highly recommend them. . The Model 17 has a 6" barrel while the Model 18 has a 4" barrel. Aside from that I see no difference between the 17 and 18..


Another 22 revolver I enjoy shooting is my Colt Official Police. . There was one for sale here on CGN a few weeks back for a reasonable price. .

I love my VG 17-3. It is capable of way more accuracy than I can exploit with my lousy HG skills.

Here is what it can do off a rest, SA at 25 yards.

It has appreciated a lot in value since I bought it so it is a good investment if you can actually bring yourself to part with it.

I had an older (1960s) Model 17 that had a fantastic trigger and shot like a laser. Highly recommend the older ones!

I used to have a 17-3, beautiful gun and most accurate handgun I have shot. Not sure why I got rid of it.

I had a 17 model, sold it, I am not missing it, I prefer a higher caliber for a revolver, and definitly prefer to shoot my Ruger Mark III for the 22 caliber aspect.
