Well I've just been gifted about 1500 IVI .223 brass.
After a few days of cleaning:) I think I might swag ?? Them.

I see there's a couple of methods ,but I like the RBCS or Dillon, swaging ,bench mount tool.

Any thoughts on that?

By making the primer pocket bigger, do that cause any ill effects to the case head?

Thanks

P.S or maybe I should just trade em:)

I use a Dillon super swage with a big elastic band and a backstop on my catching bin check utube very happy with results can swage primer pockets very fast like this as brass is ejected from swager quickly and no extra effort

Just remember that with any of the swagers where a rod pushes against the inside of the flash hole web can effect the amount of swagging. The Dillon needs to be adjusted for different brands of brass and the thickness of the flash hole web pictured below. And a hand held reamer is not effected by how thick the flash hole web is.

As long as you are just doing your IVI brass the adjustment will not be a problem, "BUT" doing mixed brass "might" cause a problem.

Example below, if adjusted for one brand of brass it will not swag as much with another brand of brass. This is the only complaint I have heard about the Dillon super swag in other forums.

For now it's the IVI.

Might do the other the other brands later:)

bigedp51 is correct - as usual.
A swager uses an internal anvil rod, and case uniformity is a factor. Set up to do a run of your IVI its fine. Mixed origin brass, might be better to use a cutting tool

Large batches of cases are best done with a Dillon type swaggers, if the OP did 1500 cases with a hand reamer his hands and fingers would be so sore he would need to take a month off from reloading and pulling the press handle. Don't ask me how I know this but even below in excess will cause very sore fingers.
