Does anyone no where to buy a Henry replacement stock?

I'm considering buying a Mare's leg but might want to put a regular stock on it.

Thanks

I purchased a replacement full size stock for my Henry .22 mares leg (H001ML) , direct from Henry customer service for $50 plus shipping. Took about a month to arrive in AB, after my email inquiry, I was given the price for the stock and to call to order at 1-866-200-2354. Excellent service from the folks at Henry.

I bought a youth size stock for my .22 mares leg direct from Henry. Do NOT tell them this is your plan. They hung up on me because in the states it's illegal unless you get it registered as an SBR. So I had to call back another day and said my kid needed a shorter length of pull and I rather switch the stock temporarily until he grew into the full size. A bit ridiculous, but it's what I had to do. That being said, that little lever gun is still the most fun to shoot with that youth stock on it. And is a tack driver. I thought about doing the same with a .357mag. But don't have the funds for that and it keeps getting more expensive lol

Great info appreciate it.

How was shooting it with the original mares leg stock?

Honestly I never tried lol. I had the stock ordered a couple days after buying the mare. But from all the videos I watched, it may be fun but not terribly accurate.

Which caliber were you considering Gary?

I bought a used .22lr Henry mare's leg years ago that came with a full stock and the short original mare's leg.... after trying both I sold the full stock to someone on the EE as I just didn't see much need and preferred the shorter length. The .22lr recoil is mild enough shoot with just a cheek weld and no support from the shoulder.

If I had kept it I would have cut it down a bit to more of a "youth" size similar to what Paul ordered, just long enough to reach the shoulder with my shoulders square to the target.

The longer stocks make more sense on the .357mag..44mag and 45 colt models where there is more recoil.

I put a full stock on a big boy 44 mag mares leg
What I did was buy the fancy wood set for the big boy and when it arrived put the fancy wood on a 45 colt big boy and took the rear stock from the 45 and put it on the mares leg, worked out perfectly

I think it was around 450 once you figure the exchange rate and shipping/customs
Not super cheap but the wood was gorgeous and it also came with the brass butt plate

Henry does seem to pick nice walnut in general even the non fancy grades. I bought a couple of butt stocks complete with Brass butt plates years ago in anticipation of possibly one day picking up a Henry Mare's leg, I recall them being about $200Cdn at the time once all was said and done,

I'm looking at the .357 version - going to try it with the mares leg but the youth stock might be the best option with just a bit more length.

Did you buy direct from Henry?

I'm not sure they make a youth version for the big boys? I'm pretty sure the youth stock mentioned previously was for the .22lr models.

The regular stocks with the brass plates look pretty good on the big boy mare's legs.
