This may have been answered before but I couldn't find it.

Is it possible to swap the collets from one cartridge to the die of another?

Specifically a friend is having a 25 pronghorn built. Could you use a 270wsm die with the collet from, say a 25-06?

Seems to make sense to me but am I missing something here?

are you talking about the Lee neck sizing dies?

if you are then I would say yes you can swap them around only issue you will have is the length of the cartridge.

you would need to find a collet with the right neck size then either add length by soldering on a ring to the collet base or remove length by machining off some of the base

No... unless you are super lucky. Each collet is sized to a variety of dimensions unique to the case being used....so is the sleeve... and so is the mandrel.... but you can buy the dies and give it a go.

Note, I have modified a collet die to suit... but swapping parts hasn't worked out for me.

Contact lee and get a custom collet neck die made.... and you may get the seater with it as well.
