We have discussed swapping 9mm and 40SW uppers on glocks before but I am curious if the same logic applies to swapping beretta uppers. Specifically, do any other parts need to be replaced when putting a "9mm upper" on a "40SW frame" or the other way around (ejector perhaps ?).

If we are talking about the 92F series, and the frame is the earlier one, the the feed ramp will need to be cut for the 40 cal, but the later ones are already cut. It was a production change that eliminated making/stocking another frame.

The ejectors are different too, so that will need to be swapped out.

RePete.

I have considerable experience in this, and have personally found that any 92F or FS upper (including a Compact one) will consistently work fine on any 96FS lower. The opposite is not always true, as I've had some feeding issues when I tried .40 cal slides on 9mm frames.

ejector changes aren't always necessary. Beretta in fact at one time produced a 92/96 combo, using a 96 ejector.
