Swapping out a cqa handguard.

yes, your cqa is a regular ar-15, as long as you use the correct length of magpul hand guard it will fit. if you have the 14.5" barrel then you have a carbine length gas system, make sure to buy that, if you have the 20" barrel then you have a rifle length gas system, buy that instead. simple as that.

You might have to trim a little off the front part that sits in the hand guard cap for it to fit. I used a pair of diagonal cutters and trimmed a bit off.

I've circled the bit that I trimmed I did it both halfs of the moe handguard. I did try to put a SL handguard on mine but I couldn't get it to fit over the delta ring.

i agree there could be some fitting required but this is an issue of norincos tolerance control or lack there of,not design, ive had 3 cqas and 2 could interchange factory handguards and 1 couldn't, but one of the two that could interchange factory hand guards could not interchange an aftermarket 2 piece rail where as the other two could

by design the moe handguards will fit, by tolerances the op may need to do a tiny bit of fitting, but over all id say hes good to go if the moe is what he wants. i think some guys, especially if they are new to ARs see cqas being marketed as "ar-15 style" and think "so what, its not actually an ar?" it is, just not one with the exacting tolerances of its American made counterparts for the most part, so the nature of my original post was more to assure the op he does in fact have an ar-15, not an "ar-15 styled rifle" and that for the most part, barring some weird tolerance issues, anything made for an ar-15 will fit his CQA because it is in fact a full blooded ar-15

When I had mine I had to file around where the delta ring slides over... took a couple minutes but after that it fit perfectly.

I installed them without any issues..It helps if you get the tool to hold the ring back while you are attempting to install it.

For my buddy’s, we had to use a dremel to remove a lot of material from a Magpul hand guard and, yes, we used the tool for removing hand guards too and it was worth buying.
