Swarovski AV Question

I just recently purchased my 2nd Swarovski AV scope for a new rifle. The 1st one i bought about a year ago was the AV 3-10x42 L, the newest one i bought just the other day is just the AV 3-10x42. I was just wondering if someone out there knew what the 'L' meant on my first scope. I thought i was buying another scope exactly the same as my first one, but the 'L' is missing and the lettering is slightly different (smaller) on the eyepiece. I think that the model #'s on the box were the same, i'm just thinking that maybe i got sold an old model or something. They both have the Plex reticles. Thanks
