Anyone have any stories to share? I have a new to me Z3 2.5-10x40 scope that requires warranty attention. My research has turned up rather limited info but it looks like only a 10 yr warranty on the Z3?

I am not the original owner, and do not have access to the original receipt.

Hello,

You do not require the original receipt, nor do you need to be the original owner.

Please PM me the serial number, along with a description of what is wrong, and I would be happy to put in a request for repair for you. If all is good on the serial number, the scope should get repaired free of charge (including shipping).

Cheers,

Omer Hrbinic

Omer could you confirm about the 10 years warranty for the Zs series?

Phil

Here are the Cole's Notes of the Swarovski Warranty:

Swarovski offers a limited lifetime warranty on the optical system. What that means is, once a model/item has been discontinued, Swarovski will repair the item for as long as they have parts. When parts are no longer available for a discontinued item, Swarovski will charge their internal cost to repair the item. While the model/item is in production, or while Swarovski still has parts for discontinued models/items, there is no charge (provided the defect is not due to abuse).

Swarovski warrants all other parts of the instrument for ten years from date of purchase against defects in materials or workmanship, subject to normal use.

All electronic components are warranted for two years against defects in materials and workmanship, subject to normal use, from date of purchase.

All non-optical products (i.e. accessories, tripods etc.) are warranted for one year from date of purchase.

In my experience, Swarovski has the best warranty service of any brand I carry, aside from the fact that items rarely need to go in for service. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Some sort of contamination on an inner lens. Second time I've had this issue recently. Last one was an original Zeiss Conquest. In the 25 years previous, I've never had a scope fail that I can recall. I hope Swarovski comes through, haven't heard anything from them yet.

Omer, would you be chance have info on the leica warranty? It's even more difficult to find straight answers for them than swaro!

The toll free number for Leica Warranty is: 1-800-222-0118

Please PM me with the issue and I'll see if I can give you a quicker answer, and/or expedite the repair order.

Cheers,

Omer

So I sent the Z3 in a couple of weeks ago and it was back to me in less than 2 weeks! All fixed up and looks great :) and at no cost to me.

Thanks to Omer for all your help, you are indeed a first class gentleman and an asset to the brands that you represent.

After many years, my trusty old hunting binoculars (Swarovski rubber-armored porro prism 10x40) went out of alignment...they sometimes got banged around pretty hard... I took them into a camera store in an Alberta town that sold Swarovski. They sent them away to Toronto, then Austria. Back in about a month...all fixed...they looked new...didn't cost me anything...I had no receipt, no warranty card or anything like that, and I was not the original owner. I like Swarovski. I have Swarovski scopes on my serious rifles and I still regularly use the old porro prism binoculars....to me they seem to have more depth of field than roof prisms and great color transmission. They have found a lot of game.
