She isnt a blond!! More of a chestnut brunette! Actually walnut. CG. 1899 4 digit all matching except electropencil, husk.cocking piece.Straight bolt handle,Vasteras 2.5 to 600 M. + shiney, bore!! OH,and a ".0" front site. What can you tell me about using these sights? Is the front .0 sight what I need?as I haven't shot it yet.looking for info and pointers. I think I am going to love this vasteras, site!!! I'm al!ready in love with this swede, the wife is away for a couple of weeks would it be wrong to maybe sleep with my swede tonight??? THANKS for any and all comments / suggestions.

P.S. I know some want to call her a 96/38, but according to Dana Jones, " the sweeds, made no distinction between a cut down 96 and a purpose built m38" and I ain't gonna either, she is a M38 period!!!!!!

You wont know whether the front sight is suitable until you shoot it with your ammo. Bear in mind that Swedes, as with most military guns were sighted in for longer distances (300 y?), so chances are that your rifle will shoot high at 100 y - its just a matter of how much.

Will it chamber original 156gr FMJ? I understand that the ones built as an M38 had a throat designed for the spitzer ammo and not the RN ammo, if the RN ammo chambers without hitting the rifling then it is probably one that was made to be a 38 rather than a new built M38. Mine will not chamber a 156gr RN original.
