Swedish Mauser parts interchangeability

If we're talking the rectangular front sights, then the width's are different as well, with the M38 sight being narrower.
 
Early Swedish front sights were of the "Barleycorn" type designed to be used with a "V" shaped rear sight. Later front sights and upgraded rifles have a "blade type" front sight and an "U" shaped rear sight notch. There is usually a number on these sights that indicate the height of that particular front sight.
 
The front sight on my M38 is a blade type. The base is marked + .75 and T. The blade is marked -1 and it is 5.96 mm tall. I would like to replace the blade with one from a M96 (since I found a relatively local supplier that apparently has several different sizes in stock at a reasonable price). I need a taller front sight in order to bring my POI down about 6 inches at 100 yards. Does anybody know what marking I need on the M96 sight, or at least what height I should be using? In my manual for the gun, it mentions that a 1 mm change in the sight position yields a 15 cm change in the POI at 100 yards. I believe this is for the horizontal displacement of the front sight. Based on this, would a front blade of approximately 7 mm tall do the trick? What would the marking on a M96 sight of this height be?
 
You can figure it out using this formula: You want to move the POI down 6", so.....6" X sight radius divided by 3600= amount in thousandths of an inch that you need to ad to the height of the front sight blade. Convert the result to Millimetres and select the front sight that totals the amount of your result.
