I recently purchased a Stiga 9.3x62. It came with bases and a bent bolt. I bent the bolt farther down, mounted a scope, and now the safety is non functional. I have a Dayton Traister safety for a '98 Mauser and I'm wondering if it will work on a '96 Mauser? I also have a floor plate release button for a '98 that looks like it should work just fine on my '96. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The safeties aren't interchangeable between the 96 and the 98. You might be able to find an older Beuhler for the 96. Timney is reproducing the Beuhler style for the 98, you could check Brownell's and see if the have one for the 96.

I don't know about the floor plate button. Just try it and see.

The Stiga 9.3 x 62 is a fine hunting rifle. There is a difference between the 96 and 98 Mausers as mentioned, and aftermarket 98 parts generally do not fit the 96, especially safties, triggers, etc. There are aftermarket 96 trigger assemblies available that do have a safety incorporated but they need a slight bit of wood removal to use them.

I recommend attending a few Gun Shows, as these parts for the 96 do show up occasionally. I usually grab any reasonably priced ones that I find, and I have found 96 aftermarket triggers and safties at Gun Shows.

Trade-Ex has 9.3 brass, bullets, dies and loaded ammo available. The 9.3 really shines when you reload it.
