I’ve got this 1911 Swedish m96 and was trying to determine what the stock wood was made of. Based on what I’ve read it seems it would either be walnut or beech (leaning towards walnut)
Most Swedes I’ve come across are quite light in colour as well, so I’m trying to determine if this one was possibly soaked in cosmoline for a while, leading to a darker colour.
