I know that these guys do not ship outside of the US. That said, does anyone know if there would be issues with buying one of their scopes while in the states and bringing it back to Canada? Would paperwork have to be done for that?

Yes. Certain SWFA scopes are on the ITAR list as well. Honestly, there are better options available in Canada in the same price range.

SWFA does not have their paperwork as a manufacturer in order with the US Dept of State so no one can export SWFA scopes out of the US. No amount of paperwork will fix that.

That said I have one of their earlier 10X scopes and it is rugged, clear and very useful. If their scopes were available in Canada I'd happily buy one or two of them for my other rifles.

Its kinda lame that they don't export here. I read that they have to get a permit to do so and whatnot, and there is a cost associated with that, but certainly they would make that money back and then some. I guess business is good enough in the states that they just don't feel inclined to bother with Canada.

I understand certain aspects of ITAR, but the fact that we cannot buy a rifle scope from our mutually biggest trading partner is lame. I guess that is beating a dead horse though.

X-man: What would you suggest for around the same price point? I was (and still am) considering the sightron 1-7 that mystic precision sells. Simple 4A style reticle. I would just like to see a range report or two before dropping the coin!!
