There is a thread in a dealers network site asking about the possibility of bringing these reasonably priced good quality scopes into Canada, we didn't get much response from them so I decided to open a thread in the optics section so all sponsors can respond and tell us if they can bring these in! So, Canam, Frontier Firearms, Marstar, Mystic, SFRC, Wolverine And all the others chime in if you Can or have the reason why we cannot! Thanks!

I will ask some Canada boarder folk at YYZ airport next time I go to work, but does anyone know, if I am in the U.S. Myself, is there paperwork I can fill out to bring these back myself, for personal use?

SWFA will not deal with anyone who ships these scopes into Canada. They stopped dealing with Canadians many years ago.
The scopes we got from them are all there will be. Their Bino deals are a bigger loss to Canadians. They used to sell re conditioned
US military Steiner optics at very good prices. Now they don't get them much anymore. The US Military Steiner Bino's are built like
a tank

Yeah, but the scope is built in Japan... You'd think there would be a way to get them to go from Japan to Canada without stopping in the USA... right?

No.

As simple as it sounds, don't hold your breath.

Super Sniper = SWFA.

It's their product, with different models being built from various optics manufacturers. What you're suggesting would be like trying to buy a bunch of Nightforce scopes directly from LOW and skipping Nightforce altogether.

hmm, ...then wouldn't it be great if a Canadian importer went to LOW, and brought in their own brand of scopes?
say, nice [and affordable] prices from the highly reputable $300 SWFA SS fixed powers to something of the Nightforce 8-32×56 NXS type?

bet they'd sell like hotcakes !

Absolutely, and if you go to the LOW website they have that option.. buy one of their various in-house models (they'll add your logo, packaging, instructions, etc).. or start customizing your own model and pay for the R&D, extra tooling, etc.

On a side note, the cheaper SWFA SS scopes (fixed 6x, 10x, 12x, 16x, 20x) aren't made by LOW. It's my understanding that only the more expensive variable power SS's are from LOW.

Another Japanese optics supplier is Japan Optics Limited (w ww.japanoptics.co.jp).. they have several models ready to go, 50 piece minimum order if you go to the 'commercial terms' section.

Just wondering, do they sell in Japan ? What I'm asking is do they have good retail scopes available in Japan?
One of my friends visits Japan once in a while and if they don't have stupid export laws like states it would be nice to grab a good Japanese made scope for half the price.

Iron guns can send the SWFA SS scopes, but there needs to be a big order, due to the fact it'll be more cost efficient for them to send many of these scopes rather than one over the border. This was information given to me by a fellow named Pat who works at Iron guns.

Well maybe they should tell us that, we haven't heard anything on their site and thread about this subject and if the price was as in the U.S. Plus exchange,, he won't be able to keep them in stock, so we have this thread and it is open to all sponsors to chime in as to what they can offer,, irunguns is welcome to let us know what they need. At the prices I see them going for in the u s I would buy 4 myself!

SWFA is very hard nosed.
They insist not only on a domestic USA shipping address, but also that the method of payment be drawn from a domestic US addressed financial institution, and by a US citizen.

Pity that ^ ... I love my 10X side parallax, and would pick up a 16x in a heartbeat if ever I could.

Yep, tried to buy a SWFA scope with my credit card and have it shipped to I Run Guns Arizona address for importation into Canada. The order was cancelled due to me using a non US card.Be nice if IRG could help us out and bring some in.

Another question that arises is, even if we can import them into Canada somehow, what if somebody needs warranty work? For me that is a big factor. They maybe fantastic scopes but if not covered under warranty, it's a no go for lot of guys like me. If irunguns is willing to take care of warranty after sales, I'm in for two or three of those.

Exactly.

I would guess that until SWFA changes their policy on exporting to Canada, warranty could be a major PITA.

Well if IRG turn out to be the ones to bring these in, they have promised to take care of warranty work with all their other products (as in take them back to the U.S. for work if necessary) so I would think they would do the same for these!

So, if, I was to buy these with an american credit card,, and had them sent to an american address, and I went to the U.S. to pick them up, would either border services (Can, U.S.) have a problem with me bringing them back??!!
