Anybody know where one could find replacement magazine springs for a Swiss 1911 rifle? Mine feels a bit weak and being over 100 years old I don't fault it but would like to have a stronger spring inside for vintage rifle matches.
I think corwin arms had some surplus magazines for the 1911. Tradeex would be a good place to look also. Greatnorthgunco has some a while ago. Or try numrich out of the US.
Try putting a filler of sponge under the spring.
It will put a bit more tension on it, but may reduce the magazine capacity.
It has helped me in the past and is certainly cheap enough to try.
