I am thinking about doing a trade for a classic green, with 40 rounds fired. Basically like new. It has the following features:

- Green furniture (Most I have observed have black. Good/bad?);
- 1/7 barrel (Better, or worse than 1/10?);
- B&T top rail (value?);

What is the current value? What should I look for to make sure its good? Thanks.

If it has low rounds, it's a safe bet it's good. Check the area at the back of the E-port that usually will give you an idea of how many rounds have actually been shot (the rifle gets pretty dinged up in that area without some kind of covering) The rifle on its own is probably worth around $2800-$3000. These rifles are very accurate, don't worry about the twist, it'll work fine for 55grn and 62 grn.

Go for it, yo won't regret it! 40 rounds...the rifle isn't even broken in yet! I personally prefer the green furniture and I'll buy yours from you if you don't want it!:D Genuine Swiss 550s are issued with the green. Black furniture is available from the Shooting Edge. 1:7 twist rate is probably the most sought after by the military purists as it allows you to shoot the heavier bullet weights more accurately, although I've had good success from 50grs right up to 70grs with the same twist. Swiss barrels just seem to shoot well no matter what. Picatinny scope rails run from around $140-$200+ depending on make. TSE carries B&T products and their rail retails for around $150 IIRC. Prices had dropped several hundred dollars when the Canadian dollar hit par, but with the dollar dropping radically of late, new retail is around $3000.00, although I've seen some smaller dealers listing rifles several hundred dollars higher. What exactly are you trading for the rifle?

I just did that - I traded 10.5" LMT with LaRue rail / Troy front and rear buis / Gas buster / 2 PMAGS / for 14.7" Swiss Arms 1/7 no import markings with two 20 / 5 mags.

Both guns were unfired.
