Purchased her from Albog almost a month ago and finally got to put it thru the paces this past Sunday. MY GOD, but she's incredible!
I was very impressed with the overall design of this rifle. There was a lot of thought that went into it. Folding trigger guard caught me off guard (pun intended
). The design of the breakdown pins is a freakin' work of art. Taking her apart is pretty straightforward, the the instructions don't warn you that the recoil spring will come flying out when you snap it open. That event made for yet another rather colourful rant from my gf about how I'm a danger to all of humanity
The trigger is a work of art, although Antoine22 didn't like it
. Absolutely no creep whatsoever, and breaks cleanly at around 4-5 lbs. The rifle is heavier than I'd like however. She's running an aluminum railed forend, that may not be helping. I'm not sure. But she's definitely got more "back" than my similarly-barreled AR.
One thing that blew my mind was the sight picture. Never before have I looked thru military peep sights and thought I was looking thru a scope. Compared to my 11.5" AR and even my HKG3, the sight picture on the CQB is incredible. When I purchased it from Albog, he warned me not to bother putting optics on it. I can honestly understand why now.
She was definitely a hit at the range, everyone wanted to try her out. And while I was worried that she might end up developing a slutty reputation, I could not deny my shooting-range brethren the pleasure of firing a few rounds thru her.
Question; Is it the barrel length that's making for such an incredible impression on me, sightwise?
