Swiss arms debacle

Any new news on the whole SAN fiasco? I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on one but don't want to fork out the $ only to have it go prohib. Anyone have any updates? Wasn't June 30th the cut off date?

June 30 was the date to provide them with technical info. I assume they are reviewing the information provided. I would also assume that CSC or some other dealer will post the relevant info when it becomes available.

Nobody has heard anything at this point. Those in the know have put together their proposals and are purposely tight lipped. Any speculation at this point does no good to the classification. I'll sum it up with a great quote from Steve Janes.

The meetings with SAN are complete, and the proposal's are being finalized, and will soon be submitted to the RCMP (yes before the end of the month). Even when this happens, we won't know anything until the RCMP make a decision, and this could be awhile. The people who know whats currently happening have stopped talking, until they know more, and for good reason. Every new "Whats happening with the Swiss Arms" thread hurts the cause more at this point, as it draws only the wrong kind of attention to our problem.

Leave it alone already. Who cares who's fault it is at this point, worry about that later, and form an opinion based on the whole picture, instead of the limited information currently available. For now, write your letters and leave it be. This thread and others about SAN rifles that do not have new information should be deleted/locked. The speculation is getting us no where, it only serves to misinform.

Continue writing letters (click here for some copy, paste, sign your name and mail out examples) and keep it up until there is a decision that comes in from the firearms lab. If you've already got some letters out get your friends and family to do the same.

June 30th was the date up to which the technical data packages could be provided to the firearms lab.

Yeah - let's not give the 'Powers that Be' any idea's or options through our debates here.

This is the part were we wait - I can't believe it will be too long - stock is sitting in back rooms, more is en route to the country.
