What is the scoop on the Swiss Black Special...this is a basic 550 right?

Any praise or horror stories? Are they worth the big bucks?

Black Special, etc...fantastic rifles! Get one if you can afford it, save for one if you can't right now! Best of all they're non-restricted!

Speaking of which, I find it funny that on just about every US based gun forum I belong to, everybody is #####ing about them being available in Canada...general consensu is that they're wasted on us, since we can only have a 5 round mag. More than a little resentment there because we can buy them period. :wink:

They all want to be able to buy them, but they all seem to believe it's their "right" to not only be able to purchase Swiss rifles, but that they absolutely "Had" to be under $1000USD :shock: :mrgreen: Otherwise its some sort of conspiracy by Sig/Swiss Arms to "screw" over Americans. :lol:

I like the US, but sometimes I just gotta' shake my head. The PE-90 and variants are probably one of the best self-loading rifles ever built and these guys not only expect, but demand that it be made available to them for less than what it costs them for a tricked out AR-15! Time for the boys to leave their own little insular world and join the rest of us in reality me thinks! :mrgreen:

Quality costs, and you get what you pay for.

Okay, 3'000 for a PE90 is a bit too much, but Swissarms won't be able to build the same rifle for 1'000 US.

Quality won't be the same anyway. Guess there many people will be dissapointed with the rifle they get in the end (if they get one at all)
 
Well used mags go for 10 Euro in a surplus store. My buddy was just there and asked me if he should bring some back. I just about fell off my chair as they are $70 (5/30) here. I told him it wasn't worth the risk ...but man. :cry:

Look at gunfactory.ch and you will see about the same as here. And remember, rivetting is usually a 20$ job on top of the retail on the mag :lol:

Benefit for Kamp is he can buy surplus 20rd mags.

I'm just getting these from the Shooting Edge website.
So are these rifles the SIG 550...what is the difference between the PE90...is it a SIG 540...I"ve been reading all I can on the site and still can't get it straight. :oops:

Heck maybe I should just stop by the Shooting Edge at lunch since I only work about a block away!

Get rid of those and the stupid "If this is legal why isnt this?" questions. All we need is to give anti's ammunition on what to ban next.

buying 20 rd mags?? I'm a Sgt in the army.
At one point I've had about 8 20 rd mags, all lost by some stupid recruits.

Only price difference with the new rifles is that here the sales tax is already in the price.

Used PE90 can be found for a lot less though, since the army started giving away used Stgw90 to soldiers who finished their service. So the price dropped to about 1'500.-. With a bit luck you'll be able to find a used PE90 for 1'200.-
