Used PE90 can be found for a lot less though, since the army started giving away used Stgw90 to soldiers who finished their service. So the price dropped to about 1'500.-. With a bit luck you'll be able to find a used PE90 for 1'200.-

Remember though... If you try to bring in a PE90 it will get confiscated and destroyed. The Swiss Arms Sportin Rifles are NOT the same.

I know, they're considered as different rifles in Canada.
The Special-rifles cost a bit more over here since they are rather rare.

Right after the Federal Shooting Festival in 2000 I saw the Green Classic in the local gunshop for 2'222.-

I started to wonder back in the 90's when we were going to get some knowedgeable peeps in Ottawa. No time too soon I think.. The crap we all see on TV is bogus. I mean Emily Proctor doing a ballistics match in 10 minutes is a fallacy.

Of the black rifles referred to on this forum, I have 3. Not one is any better than the other. Each serves a function.

In any calibre I would like to have a Baretta or SIG. The price tag is prohibitive however.

PS: It's not the length of the barrel, it's the sight radius

About the going rate they should be......

Yes, that's at least more or less the price the swiss army paid for them.

But don't forget that prices for firearms are different over here. For example the Colt AR15A2 HBAR Sporter I saw lately, like new condition for 1'600.-

Well you have a couple choices. Convince a friend to buy a new one and sell it to you for that price. Or order several thousand and get bulk pricing.

Probably the barrel, but the extractor is also a part that might wear out. Didn't have any replaced parts with my rifle after a couple thousand rounds though.

What wears out first on a PE90? I mean you can always replace a barrel, ect and how much does it cost? Couldn't a rifle like this be serviceable indefinetly?

The only part we have replaced on a gun over the past 4 years has been a cocking handle that someone managed to break the plastic cover on.

The gas tubes can get a little corroded if not maintained, and after 15,000rds or so so would need to replace the barrel. A new barrel is $460. Extractor springs are supposed to be replaced after 7,000rds, but we have not done so on the range guns with no ill effect.
