Just started a Swiss Collection. K31 and CG63. Mixed reviews on the dies for 7.5X55 Swiss. which do you recommend. I have Hornady for the 6.5x55. what are you feeding the CG63 and what works. projectile weight and powder. (which is available) Thanks

Personally I use Lee dies if at all possible. IMO their factory crimp dies are the best bar none. You could argue the same about the neck size dies. Higginson Powder has most Lee dies ready for next day shipping. They surprised me when I ordered 41 swiss dies, and they had them in stock.

Thanks I use Lee for most of my reloading. No complaints. I have some Hornady rifle dies. Have worked great. LGS had them on sale for the 6.5. So I grabbed them Need to check out other LGS for shell holder. Heard mixed reviews on the 7.5 with Lee?

CG63 is not Swiss

I generally use Lee dies with few problems. However, my 86 dated Lee .30/'06 die wouldn't resize two commercial '06's quite enough to chamber, a Ruger 77, and an FN Mauser, (both factory). I had to use an RCBS FL die to get ammo which would fit in them. I have a .308 Enfield rebarrelled by Ron Smith with a tight chamber which won't accept cases from a Lee die, but that's a custom chamber. I love the Lee collet resizing dies for cases which have been fired in the rifle in question. As long as the necks are clean, I don't bother lubing them.

I use Lee dies for all my firearms. My pistols, hunting rifles and my milsurp collection. I reload for 12 different rifle calibers and 4 pistol calibers. And to date ,I can successfully create extremely accurate and reliable loads for everything I own and it's all done with Lee. I have never had any issues with any of my die sets, which speaks volumes of quality ! You can pay more, your choice. I am extremely happy where I am.

And here's me thinking that only Americans mixed up Sweden and Switzerland. Sheesh, Guys, I'm SOOOO disappointed.

Seriously.

I use an rcbs die set for the 7.5x55 SWISS Schmidt Rubin. Use a combo of rcbs dies and lee dies for my different cartridges. Just got a hornady die set for 40S&W have yet to use it but it seems top notch. The majority of my dies are Lee and either way I've no complaints with any of my dies lee or rcbs.

Thanks for the help guys. I know there is a lot of guys with experience with these old guns. I ordered some Lee 3 die set. It's hard to find dies for certain cartridges. I went through the same thing looking for 32 acp I have used Lee and they have worked well But the 32 is so small after reloading a 45/70 LOL Thanks again

I decided to go with the Redding dies only because they seemed to be the most commonly recommended for the K31. They were pricey and I can only hope they were worth it since I have nothing to compare to. :)

Certainly no problems with them anyway.
