What do you guys think about the swiss cqb ....Pros? Cons? anything I should know??? any bad experiences??

Its restricted, expensive and the mags are limited to 5 rounds. Those are my only complaints. I've never had a FTF/FTE or any problem whatsoever. It performs flawlessly. However, I do prefer he Carbine and the Black Special.

The barrel is so short as to negate good terminal ballistics, so it isn't really a good choice for a defensive carbine. Fine for range work:)

Im love my CQB....very good accuracy for a short barrel. Extremely reliable and sounds like the broadside of a battleship when you open her up at the range.....I love to see the guys next to me faces when I blast rounds down range......they are not too happy!

Get a CQB.......you will not be sorry.

Where can I buy a 553 bolt carrier and op rod?

Ok I herd that they had a problem with them breaking in Full Auto is the same true for the SEMI AUTOS?

Not only is it not true for the semi autos, but they are not even the same gun. Applies to select fire Sig SG552. Not Swiss Arms CQB.

I don't own one but a friend does. I think it's the meanest looking thing with the folding stock. Out of all the guns he has, the first thing I ask to shoot is the CQB. Trigger is nice. Fold away trigger guard is neat. I don't think I would ever get one{its on the list but the list is long] but I sure like shooting it. I guess that makes me a mooch. I support the buying of it.

Don't know where you are getting your info, but apart from the trigger, they are both identical.

Well that's awkward.

Ok. Lets start here. From the importer and the some of the people who ran them in Iraq when the failures occurred.

It was disclosed in a rather longish thread that shouldn't have to be rehashed here again (hopefully). Bigred and KevinB posted some clear photos of the damage at that time. According to Bigred's account, the guns were neither high round count nor extreme use guns.

Let's see, if the steel rod is defective (breaks within warranty) it's replaced for free. If it doesn't break, but wears out (outside warranty) it's available at little cost. The problem has been seen mostly in the Sig 552, which is an automatic weapon that is significantly different from the CQB, in use and design - according to the RCMP.The problem is most common in a combat zone, not at the Fish and Game Range. The importer has the part available, in Canada. The latest models are shipping with the replacement part included. If any of the above is incorrect feel free to let me know, if I was in Iraq I'd be pretty P*ssed, they're getting effed by the supplier - but here in Canada, I fail to see any possible issues.

Expressed graphically, this:

Does not equal this (Picture credit to KevinB):

But feel free to contact TSE Jr or Redleg if you need clarification.

The affected guns are not the same guns we purchase here in Canada. TSE would know as they are not only the importer but (AFAIK) the warranty repair center as well.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. Apart from the fire control group and the welded block in the upper receiver the SIG 552 is identical to the Canadian imports. Down to the smallest pin/spring. I've opened up real Swiss ones, same gun.

Incorrect - let's leave it at that. The 55X series is prohibited. The Swiss Arms series is not. Get my drift?
