Hi. I've researched the threads on the Swiss gun forum so I understand the procedure of using the Waffenfett or Automatenfett to clean/season the bores.

Would Militec TW25B or plain White lithium grease also work for this purpose?? Just checking to see what CGN'ers use when they run out of the Swiss Grease.

I ran out of Automatenfett for my SIG Classic Green quite some time ago, I had a can of US lubriplate (for Garands) left over, works great to grease the mechanics. I just use Mpro7 to clean the bore.

I'm onto froglube paste now.....sticks like grease but much thinner once applied, and lubes better too. It also cleans carbon off really well. I'm not much on "newer is better" but this stuff is quite good.

I have access to Automattenfett through my club but I never use the stuff. I use G96 and have had no problems. Way easier to use. The old guys love it though and slather it onto their K31s like gravy on turkey.
