Swiss K-31 front sight adjustment

I recently picked up a 1951 K-31 and took it to the range yesterday. I need to move the POI to the left. The front sight is on a dove tail with the movement ahead in the barrel direction and to the right. Moving the dove tail foward and with it the front post to the right will correct POI?

Yup that sounds correct. Moving the front sight to the right will send the muzzle (the bullet) to the left.

Look at where the indexing marks are now, then when you start tapping the sight you can see if and how much you have moved it. It usually does not take much.

If you want to move the POI to the left move the front sight in the same direction.

Front sight goes opposite direction you want POI to go.
Rear sight is same direction as you want poi to go.
