I have been interested in this rifle for years, curious if they are a hard to find item, how they shoot, what is they average condition.. and where would be the best place to find a real nice one...

Thanks for your time:)

Just before Christmas the Shooting Edge in Calgary has 4 or 5. One in particular was almost pristine with near perfect bluing. I suspect they did not have the matching bayonets but am not sure.

They may be the last of the batch of Lucern Canton police rifles they brought in. I have two of them. Even with my old eyes I can get groups smaller than 1.5 inches at 100 yards. Not too bad for 70 year old rifles.

They also have a Swiss gunsmith working there and parts available as well.

The Shooting Edge is a sponsor here, look for the link at the top of the page.

You will love the K31.

Better get one soon, Not many left to buy. Prices will likely rise over the next few years now that cheap availability is over.

I'm one of the lucky ones here in yUK - I have a Model 1896/11, a K31 and a K31-actioned target rifle in .308Win with a Schultz & Larsen barrel.

Carlos is right - get one while you can...twhen they are gone, they really are gone.

Oh yes, join with us on www.swissrifles.com.....

K31

I just took delivery of a K31 this week from Down East Trading. $250 + shipping. They have more on hand. I've disassembled this unit and given it a thorough cleaning, which it didn't need, and inspected it closely. It's in great shape, all metal parts in excellent condition. Bright, shiny bore. Stock is walnut, and has lots of minor dings, but no cracks.....pretty much what I was expecting. Haven't had it to the range yet, but soon.

the best bolt action rifle I ever owned. Period. I reload for it now but when I went through the last of my GP11 I cried. Owning a k31 is a MUST for Milsurp collectors or even just anybody who is bright enough to appreciate the incredible workmanship.

Like the previous posts say, bag one now they're NOT going to get any cheaper.

Watch out once you shoot Swiss everything else seems inferior:D I just picked up a Swiss army surplus pistol (p210) shoots like a race gun.

I just finsished my Swiss rifle collection with a K31 from Target Sports. They are $499 and include the bayonet with matching #s.
