Hello all, apologies for bringing up something that I am sure has been convered before. I've tried searching and viewed the sticky, but am looking for the best solution to minimize brass damage and ejection distance in these rifles, not to mention the paint removal. I've seen people use felt etc, but are there any particular mods that work really well for this that any of you know of? Thinking some sort of rubber bumper padding system, but before I start messing about I figured I would ask first. Thanks!

If you are finicky, put some tape or velcro on the brass deflector.

Or wear the brass mark with pride, knowing that you have used your PE90 as it was intended :D

Sorry, I mean damage to the actual brass itself, that to the rifle is not a real big concern. I reload, so brass recovery and condition is important to me. so a brass catcher with some sort of deflector that will keep the brass from getting dinged to badly is the answer.

I reload to and it's not an issue. The banged up neck returns to the correct shape when you resize it (make sure you full length resize it too, not just neck size), and the dent in the side looks bad, but doesn't cause any issues. Also, I'll usually end up loosing the brass before it's unsafe to reload (75%-80% recovery).

If you have the model with the diopter rear sight you can add a factory offered brass deflector. The dings in the brass are mostly caused by banging off of the ejection port - I've found with the brass deflector in place it can eliminate some of this.
The other option is modifying the ejector itself - not something I've done or would recommend seeing as it is part of the receiver....

I've reloaded about 700 rounds of dented brass shot from my Swiss (some up to 3 times). No issues.

As for "damage" to the gun's finish, where I come from, they call that character. :D

Velcro. Won't really save the brass (gets dinged anyway). I shoot mine mostly in the bush, so the brass gets lost anyway. :D
