My collection is moving in this direction these days. Along with the Swede Mausers IMO they're the best rifles to come out of the late 1800s to mid 1900s.

Here's my G11

I like walnut stocks as you can see. I don't have any photos I like of my K11 yet.

VERY pretty!

All you need now are the '89 and '89/96, then a whole slew of Vetterlis.

Superbly accurate rifles, these. Just 'WAY too many have been butchered.

I'm impressed.

I have a Vetterli that I forgot in the OP. My friend who took the photos of my G11 is coming back up from the states at the end of the month and I hope to get him to take some more photos of my Swiss and Swedes in exchange for some .41 SRF action. I only have 6 rounds so we'll see what happens!

Why not pick up a spare bolt shaft and convert to centrefire?

Not really a lot of trouble, and you can make the ammo out of .348 Winchester brass, boom them off manymany times for a dime a pop. Shells will cost you about a buck apiece to make up, first time, but after that it's a dime.

MUCH cheaper than banging off original ammo at 6 or 7 bucks a shot.

Think on it.

pretty nice looking guns, it's amazing the quality put into firearms back then , compared to some of the cheap junk they produce today!

While I was in the UK last year they had .22 trainer versions of the K31. Very nice but we don't seem to be able to get them here.

I was at the Phoenix meet at Bisley. I did talk to the guy who had them and he did not have the ability to export. I also talked to the usual folks in Canada who imported the K31 to see if they could get them and they said no.

Very disappointing as it was one of the neatest .22 military trainers I have seen.

I have a rather large collection of Swiss rifles from the '69 vetterli to the K31, but I have NEVER been able to find a 22lr K31 for sale in Canada. I'd love to to find one. Could you PLEASE tell me what is "Bisley"? How would I contact them? Maybe they could point me to a UK dealer with one of these..

Bisley is the large range complex where a lot of rifle matches take place and the occasional gun show. It is also home to Fultons the shooting store of Enfield accuracy fame http://www.nra.org.uk/. Its west of London by about 45 minutes on the train.
The rifles were in a tent outside so the organizers of the Phoenix meet may be able to help locat the dealer. I did try as I collect .22 trainers but there was no way to get one over here
