thinking on getting a swiss veterelli 41 cal rifle ..............i would need to get it converted to centre fire, ANYONE KNOW a good source to get such work done ?
any ideas / info most welcomed.
along with that,
any source for brass or anyone make the centre fire brass ?

brass used for it is 8x50R Lebel ,did one last summer for a friend took about 2 hours .The bolt face was quite hard to drill through but wasn't too bad in the lathe

A little bit of time here on CGN searching on "Vetterli", both within the past three years and older than three years, will produce several threads that cover both topics.

Easily done.
I use the original rim fire pin.
H shaped firing pin.
Rcbs decap pin or flat head nail for a firing pin.
Hole drill a hole through the center of the bolt face, slightly larger than your firing pin.
Drill a hole through the cross piece of firing.
The two pieces at the front of firing must be shortened so they won't hit the case rim.
Easiest and cheapest way to do it.
The length of new firing pin varies on different guns.
With bolt out of rifle and decocked the pin should stick out past the bolt face slightly more than 30 to 40 thousand.
I always make them too long then shorten. I have ten Vetterli with three converted to center fire.
If you need more PM me.
