I recently called the CFC to correct some information on registration forms. I would suggest all Swissarms carbine owners check theirs.
Basics: 14.3" carbine 363mm, 17.9" carbine 454mm.
I had one carbine corrected as the information they had was for a CQB, so long barrelled carbine 454mm. On my form for the 14.3" carbine they also had 454mm for barrel. So I told the lady the gun was green...classic green...but from a run with no markings or names and the barrel was 363mm long. She tells me that it can't be a classic green carbine as the classic green carbine only comes in 454mm and that the only swissarms with 363mm barrel option is a black special..
The gun according to their records was identified as classic green. Seems their database does NOT have all the variations of the model.
I was advised to call again with gun in hand to describe all features to them so they could verify it.
I found it interesting that two certs for these carbines both had wrong barrel lengths on it. Check yours and update, if they can seize a gun for a different caliber than listed who knows what they'll do if the barrel length is not accurate, even though classification stays restricted. Mistake vs. deliberate, who knows....
