Hey!

Is a Schmidt 1896 worth trying to reload for?

Been reading alot about the weak bolt-paper patched bullets-low pressure tolerances

on the other hand-the rifle is MINT condition and is begging to be used....

or should I just get a K11/31??

IMHO it would make great cast boolit shooter.Any firearm this age I ever encountered loves lead projectiles,especially it it was designed for it in the first place.

Careful. The K31 is a lot stronger than the earlier models.

1896 is a much stronger action than the 1889.
The 1896s that were converted into the 96/11 to bring them up to the M1911 standards with GP11 are great shooters with the hotter GP11 rounds.
