Switch barrel guns for hunting

The SHR 970 rifles are set up to allow this. There are still lots out there for reasonable prices and the barrels are still available from the factory. Bolts and mags too for that matter. I have done up one rifle for 223 and 308.

No one has mentioned the Thompson Center Encore and Contender. Single shots to be sure but a very well designed and accurate switch barrel system. With the most barrel options of any factory rifle that I know of.

I've talked about it with *someone* and there's no reason you couldn't do it with minimal fooling around. I want to modify the stock to avoid having to remove the action to disassemble it. As soon as I get that system worked out in my head, and his mill, I'll likely put it into action.

I actually have an encore .50 cal BP. But I just don't care for shooting it that much to make it one of my main hunting rifle's. Although I would someday like to get a few rifle barrel's for it.
