switching barrels

can a 38-55 pre-war 20" barrel be switched with a 20" barrel on a post -64 30-30 carbine. Should there be any problems with it lining up properly?

You will need to check headspace on newer barrel and chances are it will not line up with the sights where you want 'em without adding/reducing threads,etc. It's not a problem for a gunsmith or machinist with the equip.
