switching barrels

is a special tool required to switch barrels on a winchester from a 30 cal to a 38-55. I do not want to mark the original barrel as it is like new. The replacement will be a 20" octagon.

To do it properly, a barrel vise and action wrench should be used. There are specific bushings that conform to the barrel and vise that prevent the barrel from moving. Powdered rosin can be used as well to prevent the barrel from turning in the bushing. The action wrench can be modified to fit the action. I'm sure there are other suggestions from knowledgeable members to do it without the aid of the equipment I've mentioned.
