Switzer's auction

It was interesting. There were some good buys, some interesting items. I made a list of prices realized, if there is anything in particular you are curious about, I could post the information.

The T went for $2150. Rifle, scope, mount were not united during WW2. Italian Vetterli in 6.5, $100. The two Rosses were sported Mk.IIIs, $100 and $400, the latter to an absentee bidder. I have no idea why. It was a $100 gun, tops. Sported 1898 US Krag, $310. Sported Mausers, $125, $140, $150. BSA Martini .22, $610. Nice AG42B, $150. Exceptional untouched all original K98k, $1900. LB 7.62 conversion, $675. Sported P-14, $200. P-14 in M1917 stock, w/M1917 bayonet, $275.

The AG42B went for a good price assuming it was in decent shape.

Bass fishing sucked for me but it does not look like I missed much.

I got guns:

- I don't need;
- for prices I can ill afford;
- in a quantity I can't store; and
- at a time when I'm too busy to load for them.

Pretty much the usual situation. :rolleyes:

Actually did ok - a nice Italian Vetterli M1870/87/15; a M95 Long Rifle; a RE P14 Sporter; and a M1909 Argie Sporter.

The AG42B was a good one. Andy's M1870/87/15 is respectable. I didn't buy any guns, got a load of loading supplies, tools. There were some excellent buys. The cased Belgian double went for $875; it was a first class European gun in excellent condition. Quality engraving, fancy wood. At that price it was a bargain.

Paul Switzer adds a 2% buyers premium IF you use a credit card. If you pay cash or debit card, there is no premium. Plus taxes, of course.
