Swivel gun / small cannon value

Anyone want to chime in on what they think a swivel gun like the one in the pictures might possibly be worth. The pictures are not of the exact unit but one that is almost identical all markings and measurements are the same. The bottom is marked NHSS and on top 1-0-9. No other visibly markings. about 36" long and a 1" bore. The swivel and handle are no longer with the gun.
I any help would be appreciated.

Begs the question though. If something this old isn't prohibited, but a WW1 cannon is, where is that prohibited line drawn? Don't tell me common sense...that ship has sailed.

if the government is buying.... a piece of history like that would be a good payday....

now as a side note. Pre May 1st. A similar cannon on a wheeled base went for $1800 at a local gun store.

I wrote to Blair requesting clarification on whether the 20 mm prohibition applied to a number of categories of guns, including antiques. Still no answer from him. We are often told that ignorance of the law is no defense but it begs the question that if the government refuses to clarify the law, can we use that as a defense ?

It is a "matchlock" ignition system so not a firearm but a "antique" according to the definition of what is NOT a firearm in the Criminal Code. After that your guess is as good as mine. I would still love to have it...mine is only 70 cal.

I think you need to read the OIC word for word, there is no exception for age or ignition method in the "new firearms class's" that Blair declared in the signed document...however your argument may have merit if one or all the coming court challenges to the OIC can get a ruling that an OIC cannot overrule a legislated bill either partly or wholly. I fully expect this approach to be part of every challenge to the OIC and would be surprised if it isn't.

On the face of it the OIC would ban 1812 cannon and a great deal of other items that fall in the >10,000J and >20mm categories. That was my first thinking, however there is a thread here that explains why antiques are not prohibited under the OIC. It's a long, tortuous read of definitions what is and what isn't a firearm or antique firearm but at the end I think your cannon and Brown Bess muskets are not prohibited. A Boer war 18 pounder and Boys rifle are however. It's still a little iffy on those 20mm choke shotguns.

That is the real deal. Not sure who the maker is more research to identify the cypher at the breach
Would help to identify it. A genuine antique cannon.
