Thoughts, comments, recommendations on the Winchester SXP Field 20 Pump-Action Shotgun - please?

Sail is listing it for $539.00. Doesn't seem like a lot of money for this gun?

Looking for one for my granddaughter.

All the (many, many) Winchester SXP models seem quite reasonably priced. I've watched/read some reviews on them which seem quite promising, and it's currently the shotgun at the top of my list (in 12ga). But I too would love to hear what people on this forum have to say about it.

The SXP is a great performer in both 12 and 20g, for the price they are a hard value to beat. Good ergonomics, very few problems, they will cycle anything and the pump assist feature is kind of neat also. I’ve shot numerous versions of the gun and they just perform, no drama. If you go on YouTube and look up “ Target Focused Life” he does a couple of excellent reviews of the SXP.
I’m actually in the market for a cheaper pump at the moment and I’m going to be picking up a 12g SXP next week myself.
I shot my brothers at a Trap event last month and it reminded me what a fun shotgun they are. For the price I don’t think you can go wrong

I guess not all the guns coming out of Turkey are junk. Or maybe people are being fooled by branding and dont want to admit it

The SXP may come out of Turkey but it certainly has a well established record for reliability and dependability for over a decade now, so you can make all the snide comments you like about it but those that own them don’t need to admit to being fooled by branding, quite easy to find that out for yourself, however judging by your name you might just be unswayed by anything without a “B” at the start of its name smfh

Check Dante's - They have some demo units available under used firearms, micro and compact models.
I was looking for an SXP for a young new shooter recently myself.

You couldn’t be more off the mark even if you tried. What didn’t you understand about my first sentence? It was as clear and straight forward as it could have been. You clearly you don’t comprehend sarcasm and you also appear to be impaired by projection….

If that is the case, then I do apologize, I have obviously misread your statement and its intent. I’m usually pretty good with sarcasm, but the written word can sometimes be misconstrued. I must have seen too many “ Turkish shotguns suck” replies lately

Yes! Thats exactly why I made the comment that I made. And I’m not suggesting everything coming out of Turkey is good, but its also not all bad. I have 6 or 7 Turkish guns and I think they are excellent.

As for my brand comment, it was directly related to a recent thread where someone asked for opinions on what would be a good first shotgun. One of the first comments was something along the lines of “what ever you do, stay away from anything out of Turkey. They are junk. I highly recommend getting a Winchester SXP….” f:P:2:
