T-81 Side Rail Optic Mount question

I know the answer is probably buried in the 150+ pages on the T-81 but maybe someone can save me some time.

I'm looking at buying the TI MasterMount Type 81 Side Rail (https://www.tacticalimports.ca/firearm-accessories-c-35_42/mastermount-type-81-side-rail-p-757.html) for my T-81 LMG. However, I note that TI is currently sold out of the right hand safety selector (https://www.tacticalimports.ca/fire...t-side-safety-selector-for-type-81-p-763.html).

Am I correct in assuming that there is no sense getting the side rail until the selector is available as, at best, I would have no safety on the firearm and at worst I don't even know if the firearm would function without the safety installed.

I really don't want to drop $100 on a mount that I wouldn't be able to use should the right hand selector never be available again.

Am I correct or am I missing something here?

Youll definitely want the safety installed, its critical to keeping the trigger pin plate from walking out. More expensive 90 and 45 degree safetys can be purchased from other Canadian manufacturers, so the risk of not finding one is not an issue.
 
If you can't find a right side safety now, it's only a matter of time till one of the various manufacturers has it in stock. Right Murray!
If you really want the master mount, get it. It's one of those guns where if you want accessories, get them when you see them. They tend to sell out.

I had the mastermount but I also ordered a mount from ali. Some are garbage but this one fit perfectly. I tried both and both held zero just fine, sold the mastermount. I would buy a sigmaco type 2 rail in a heartbeat but if they show up on gb they are insanely priced.
 
Yesterday when I buy mastermount full length mount I select "yes" for right side safety on the mount purchase page and TI charged money and placed order for me. Not sure if later TI will tell me they actually run out of inventory.

Yes, I saw that. They let you order the safety but their website shows it as "Out of Stock". :unsure:

I have a right side safety I can trade you for your left side safety. I’m trying to get rid of my master mount set up.

Right now I have a couple of AK style side mounts but I don't know if they will fit the MasterMount Type 81 Side Rail. That's why I want to get just the side rail, right side safety and threaded pins so I can try my mounts first. If they don't fit I may be interested in your complete setup.
 
I just ordered the ti side mount rail with right hand saftey and both shower up today so they must have more in stock now

Glad you got yours but I think tsouz007 is probably right... they're only selling them to people who buy the mount as well. Since I already have a couple of mounts that may work that's not an option for me.
