Was lookin at the cheaper 22lr but now want a better quality one after handling the T-bolt and rem. Which ones best bang for $$$. Already have 17 CZ but want something diff in 22 lr. Whinchester wildcat interests mer but havent found 1 to check out. Leaning towards the T-bolt but are they gonna be reliable?

My father has owned a T-bolt since before I was born (I am 32) He doesn't use it much but he loves it and it saw alot of use when he was younger.
Problem is the rifle is left handed or it would be in my safe!

I think they are great guns, his buddy used to shoot it almost as fast as a semi.

Oh boy. I've been waiting for one like this! :D

Here's the scoop. I picked up a T-Bolt a couple months back, but only started to shoot it a few weeks ago. What a sweet rifle. I've decided to clear ut alot of my hunting rifles in lieu of high quality rimfires, which I'll shoot alot more. I decided to look for another high quality rifle, and was comparing the Kimber, the 504 and the CZ's to each other. But I ended up comparing them all to my T-bolt. I'll make a long story short. I didn't like the 504's bolt, and how it just rubbed me the wrong way seeing it just kind of wobble around in the reciever. Nor did I like the stock much. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice rifle, but I decided against it. I'll wait till the 541's (547?) come out, and then think of looking at one of them. The kimber was just too overpriced for what you get, in my opinion. I selected the CZ American. The high quality of the rifle just can't be compared. But if you were to compare the two, I would say the CZ is built better than my Browning. But that's for next weekend to determine. The T-bolts accuracy is immpresive. These five shots were fired at 50 yards, in the wind of my cowboy hat!

The bolt is about as slick a operating unit as you could hope for. Literally able to do it with just your thumb. It's super fast for followup shots. The small proportions of the stock, I mean the slenderness of it was terrific in a cross wind. It doesn't blow around as much as some of my other rifles. It's light weight made it so you wanted to carry it, ready to shhot instead of on a sling. All in all, I love the rifle, and it's quality. I've had no problems with the magazine either. Though I thought I would. I now have several hundred rounds through it, with no hitches to speak of. My next purchase may be a 77/22, though I've been reading some bad things about it, too. I'll take one for a test drive. Congrats on your decision to buy a quality .22 rifle. you'll shoot it more than anything else in your safe.

Well, I have one of the old T-bolts. It's a great little gun - it's got more character and class than most 22 bolt actions, but nevertheless I find myself reaching for the little savage mark 2 more frequently.
I've also got a 77/22 hornet - which is more similar to the 77/22 than the full blown 77 - it's fantastic. Its probably my favourite rifle at the moment. I've promised myself that I'm going to get a 77/22 WMR one of these years.
The CZ's I don't care for much. I find they're over hyped and uncomfortable. They just don't scream 'high end' imho.
I've never had a remington, although the 504's and new model 5's sure look nice.

I have owned the 77/22 Magnum. The rifle was the target gray laminant model. The action was awsome. Smooth and very high end. I was so inexperienced when I had this rifle that I sold it before I really knew how it shot and its potential.

But from what I do know, it was built very well.

I have had a T-Bolt (original) and several 77/22's stainless, blue, 22 mag, 77/17, 77/22 hornets)--I found them all to be capable of excellent accuracy and never had any problems with any of them. Prices on the 77/22 have been getting higher and higher over the last several years--am not sure if they represent good value or not. I mostly try and pick them up on the used market and have been quite successful.

I have a 504, 541T, and a T-bolt Tl model(not the fancy one). The jury is still out. The 504 shows a preference to Standard Vel, while the 541 like Hi-Vel. Maybe there is some difference between the 20 and 24 inch barrels. I have not tested enough brands with the T-bolt. Tough decision . . . we all have our crosses to bear. What would my T-bolt be worth - I have not followed any sales on them.
