I just got back last night from another prospecting trip while I was working I spotted this buck right at dusk Thursday evening at 650 yards which was to late to do a stalk so I decided to go back the next (Friday) morning.

I was dressed in my white polar fleece coveralls, white hat and gloves as I left my truck @ 7:10am and I spotted him after a gruelling 50 yard hike.

I did a stalk to within 210 yards and shot him dead center of the chest as he was facing me he was looking right at me but due to being all in white I don't think he saw me at all.

I was using my stainless steel single shot T/C Contender carbine taped up with white camo tape the rifle is chambered in a Mike Bellm wildcat (Mike studied under P.O. Ackley) called a 308 Bellm which are 444 Marlin brass necked down with 308 Win dies I load up with 150gr Rem bulk Core Lok bullets @ 2600fps muzzle velocity from a 21" barrel.

He dropped 50 yards later. :)

Now for you guys asking about hunting alone...

It is a lot of work to drag a deer like this out of the bush so if you can't pack an animal out by yourself don't hunt alone.

Great buck!!! I know it's hard to judge body size from pics... but he looks HUGE, like 250 lbs+ HUGE, field dressed. Did you get a weight on him? :D

No didn't weigh him but for size comparison I am 6' 3" and weigh 220lbs and I'm supporting the head with my knee and am holding the antlers so it's not an optical illusion how big it is.

I dragged him about 500 yards thru the cut took about 2 hours of messing around to clean him, clear a path thru the logs, take pictures, take breathers, drag him out to the road...

I then backed my truck into a ditch and only had to lift him about 10" to get him into the back of the truck.

I'm figuring there is another buck there that maybe just as big or bigger due to the amount of bruising on his body once he was skinned out.
