Has anyone heard any further on the T/C Venture recall. Cabela's seems to know nothing. Have had no reply from any messages from thompson center/smith and wesson.

I know in the states you get a shipping label to send in and get checked out but I cannot find anything for Canadian cutomers.

Sorry if this in the wrong forum. Just looking for a little direction

Thanks

I've got one too, and haven't heard anything beyond the call from Cabelas telling me not to use it. But, on TC's website, there are links to Canadian repair facilities. I haven't had time to call any of them during business hours (lousy shift work).
Maybe somebody on this list could help you.

WeLl cant seem to get a hold of anyone or at least get a reply back. I kind of expect this so close to christmas i guess. The thing i am really disapointed in is t/c will not reply to me. All i have heard from a friend is t/c will contact each owner but no time frame. That could mean 6 days or 6 months just to talk to them. I already lost my season all i ask is that they keep us in some sort of loop so i can plan cor the future.

hmm whats the recall for , just bought a venture 4 months ago from jo brooks ,used it hunting

any info would be appreciated

Issue according to TC is with the sear. Some may have been machined outside of tolerances or something and can cause the gun to fire unintentionally. I had read somewhere awhile ago that basically TC found that they could slamfire the gun and decided to recall them. May have just been a rumor though.

TC gave me the same three numbers as above to contact about recalls in Canada. When I got a hold of the guys in BC I was told that they are still sorting things out with TC and that nothing is going to be done until the new year. They were still working out shipping costs with TC and that sort of thing. They suggested that I call them back in the new year after things had been figured out a bit and they would have a better answer for me at that time.

I totally forgot about this! I emailed TC when the recall was first announced. Submitted the request for the shipping label and never heard back...
I guess ill be calling north sylva tomorrow, although I assume ill get the same story as the BC call above did.

Is there any more info for the recall here in Canada. I bought a Venture back in june and just found out about the recall yesterday.

Just got a heads up today from Cabelas, where I bought mine. They are bringing techs from T/C into the Edmonton store this weekend, Jan 20,21. I am supposed to bring my rifle in and have it repaired on the spot by these guys.
Not sure where that leaves you guys, but its more info than I had yesterday.

I was in before xmas talking with wortner he mentioned 750 guns were coming his way and he had no issued parts to put in them at that time. He does warrenty work for smith n wesson and they called him and said he now does tc. He does good work just takes a while
