I'm thinking of getting a Tikka T3 heavy barrel stainless .308 varmint rifle as a precision shooting / coyote shooting gun.
anyone own one ?
What is the accuracy on this gun ?
Thanks

LOL!

I have one and had it out the other day. Mine is in 22-250 and I haven't shot it in about 2 years and it was shooting just under half inch the other day. I am sure it will shoot even better with a better shooter.

I have one in 6.5x55 and it will shoot half inch groups with federal blue box 140gr all day long. Planning on reloading for it soon to really tighten up the groups. Get one!

These are subMOA guns out of the box.
I have two...one in .223 and one in 260Rem, and they both do 0.5MOA with handloads.
If that's not good enough, you are going to have to spend a lot more $ to get better results.....

Do they have the Sporter version available here?

I love to get myself a 260rem, been look at wholesale and sport, but they don't have any, my buddy said he inlet a stock for me look like the T3 sporter, I just pay for the stock.

+1 to the above.

I bought one on a whim in 223 to 'try out' while contemplating rebarreling a Savage, and it shot sub-MOA during load development for both 8208 and Varget with 75 gr Match bullets. Mind you, it didn't like factory Win 62 grain fodder one bit.

Can't wait for my second...

My .223 varmint will shootnunder 1/2 with almost no load development. My current let load puts them under 0.4" wihtout too much trouble. Accurate, smooth, and detachable mags! Nice!

Had 3 sold one 6.5x55 unfired, 300 wsm traded and still have the 308 win
the 300 wsm bought 5 boxes win 150gr backed off adjustment screw untill it binds with the clip hardware mounting screw, stock back on sight in shoot hardball size rocks painted white consistantly at 500 yds. later workedup loads 175gr smks shooting under 1/4 "
the 308 adjust trigger 100rdscheap military ammo hitting 12" gong 980yds 65% of shots
cant wait to load for the 308 with match brass i know it will be very accutate.
very good accurate rifles

had two varmint stainless .204's, 1st one half minute with hornady 32gr at around 4030 fps should have kept it, missed so got another and this new one does about same with federal 39gr, had a sporter .243 and .270 and both well sub-moa with right factory ammos

have had the new .204 out at 500 yrds one day and 520 yrds another collecting and confirming drop data, two 3 shot groups on paper each trip, one trip gave a 2.0" ctc and 3.43" ctc over caldwell tackdriver bag (520 yrds), the 500yrd trip i went off harris 9-13" prone swivel bipod and printed a 2.25" and 4.3" quick 3 shot groups each day, got my data and speed dial knob on the way

mine built specifically for coyotes too, egw 0 moa rail, leupy medium quick detach (all i could find quick) and leupy 6.5-20x40lr with m1 knobs and standard duplex reticle

very easy to keep sub-moa to those ranges and clearly when i do my part it stacks them less than half moa.....when i average everything i've documented with it so far its about half minute gun with that factory ammo

it was a bit much for its first blood the other day a fox but the large coyote it took at 250 this morning was perfect bite/spin/flop no excessive damage

These guns shoot - period. This forum becomes a perpetual battle between remington and savage rifles... tikka shoots as well or better than the best of either of these two brands.

For someone that wants to buy a rifle that shoots well and needs nothing in terms of tweaking, buy a heavy barrel Tikka. Have fun.

Shot one 2 weeks ago in .204. First impressions were how smooth the bolt operated right out of the box, the trigger ALOT lighter and crisp compared to my savage (non accutrigger). First 3 shots were all touching at 100yards. It wasnt my gun so 3 shots is all I was given. I had never even considered a Tikka until after this test drive but now i am a believer. If only they can gain more after market support.

I had one that refused to shoot over .75moa. It didn't matter what I fed it, it shot it well.

By far, the best out of the box bolt that I ever owned. In a moment of weakness, I sold it to fund another project.:(
