T3 laminate vs sako 85 hunter laminate

Yes, I have both. You will be happy with the Tikka but will ask yourself if you should of bought the Sako. If you buy the Sako, your friends will be asking the same question as you. You can then tell your friends ''YES''. There is nothing that comes close to the magazine design of the Sako, besides a bunch of other things. If money is a issue get the Tikka.

I just bought a tikka laminated stainless in 30-06 and love it... I own and have owned other Tikkas and was never dissappointed however that 30-06 is only used one week a year for moose so that's why I decided to save the $800.... If I used it more I might have bought the sako.... Otherwise the tikka is extremely accurate and nice to carry!

I bought a Tikka and I've been happy with it, but lately I've found myself thinking about a Sako ...

That's what I'm thinking. I have it narrowed to the grey wolf laminate in the tikka, sako or a medallion x bolt. I have a sako now I just don't want to. disappointed down the road since I haven't seen any tikka laminates in person.

Also have both, and I would tell you the same thing. Other than to add, the Sako 85 is not as nice as the 75.

I personally love the laminate on my tikka i know u want to see it in person but I can email u some pics if u want to have a look at mine... Let me know thanks hope it helps

I sold my Tikka T-3 laminate in 204 and bought a Sako 85 Varmint laminate in 204. Yes the Sako was worth the extra $. I also have a Sako 75 Varmint laminate in 222 and I prefer the 85.

Thanks to hoss83 for some nice close up pictures of his laminate tikka, Iv shouldered a few t3 synthetics in the last week or so, seems like that's all they bring in around here. I don't plan on buying untill august, so I have time to shop around and hopfully see some laminate stocks in person, and compare sako to tikka. The browning is now out of the picture.

I totally agree.

i waited the extra year for a Tikka t3 in the LS model (2004 to 2005) for the LS release. At that time Sako did not have the Greywolf out-trust me I waited then went the T3. After having a Sako m75ss rifle new since 1997, it was the only was to get the 270WSM.

The Tikka is an awesome shooter and I got 2 on them in the same caliber-fiance took over the first so I bought another for me. I had 2 out of the first 10 in Canada back then...had money down at 2 stores. Coud not come to buying the Tikka T3 in the SS model after having a Sako m75 SS - the synthetic stock on the T3 is what I do not LIKE.

I have a couple m75 Greywolfs and love them.

Its like buying lets say a Chev Avalanche LTZ and wanting the Cadillac Escalade EXT. More tweaks and whistles. Basically same barrel, just different action and no plastic. Nothing wrong with the clip on the T3 or bolt shroud for me.

If you have the money go for the Sako. You will not regret it. Or buy the LS Tikka, buy a better scope or still have enough funds to buy another rifle:D

I personally prefer the Sako m75 stock of the model 85 or the T3.

Been looking for a 270WSM in a Sako m75 "SM" action in either the SS or Greywolf for awhile....and just bought the SS from a CGN member that was listed recently. Going to be hard to part with the T3 270WSM in the pic, but its going to a good home....my bro-in-law who being using it for couple years now. It shoots 140gr Accubond reloads quite sweetly. Hopefully the Sako will do same!

Try out new tikka T3 in stainless fluted and wood. It will save you $600-800 and you will get a good rifle.
Of course sako is way ahead of tikka but littlebit pricey and 75's are almost imposible to find in exc.cond.
(not big fan of 85's).
Tikka stainless laminated is great gun but if need to carry a lot than go for synthetic stock or new stainless fluted with wood.
I just get one and still did not have chance to try it but you must take it to beleive how light that thing is.
I ve got .243 tikka laminated ss and sako 75 ss syn. In 300wsm and wouldnt change a thing.
Never even thought of 85 just dont like em

People typically like what they own, and I'm no different... The Sako 85's are every bit as good as the 75 FROM MY EXPERIENCE, and are worth every penny. Personally, I like them better. Now having said that, you get alot of rifle for the price in the Tikka T3 platform. Find one, shoulder it, and buy it if it fits you. If you shoulder an 85 first, don't even bother picking up a T3 ;)

Ive owned both. Both are nice rifles and the tikas are good value. Its kind of like comparing a VW to a audi, both nice cars but a VW is no audi. That being said the sako is a much nicer rifle and in my case my sako 75 shot tighter groups then my tika T3. Both were in 30-06. I bought the tika first but wanted a sako. I wasn't quite happy with the tika sold it bought the sako 75 and havent looked back.
