Hello all,
Fairly new to shooting sports in general, bought my first rifle; T3 Lite stainless .243win
I wanted to pillar bed the factory stock (I like it and am also adding a cheek riser)

The kit I was looking to install is made by Lumley Arms Co.
it includes a Grade5 titanium recoil lug, the two pillars in 304 Stainless, and two 304 Stainless hex head screws.

Forgive me if these are dumb/obvious,
What Im asking is basically this;
What is involved in installing pillars into a Synthetic stock?
Do I need special tools?
Could somebody link me to, or send me pics as a guide? (As all I can locate are for wood stocks)
What's the bloody torque spec on a T3 Lite?

Eventually I'd like the bottom metal to be replaced with, well...metal..but it's not in my budget atm.

Thanks in advance
~Ty

I think you are wasting your money on these alterations on that synthetic stock. I suggest you test it well before doing anything... then if you do the alterations you will have a comparison. I'll tell you right now, if you don't do it correctly, you may lose accuracy.

x2 i hope you are just doing it because you want to monkey with it. if its not as good as it was you might not notice.

In all honesty I was hoping to just generally improve on the rifle itself. As a shooter I do need practice, yes. But I want a rifle that's considered "more than capable" of sub moa.

I do have a spare stock that I got for nothing. So if I wreck it...no large loss. I learn by doing. Although guidance is more than desired and appreciated.
and as stated earlier...my budget isn't that large. So I just plain can not afford a gunsmith.

I have honestly never heard of a Tikka that wouldn't shoot under moa out of the box with the right ammo, practice on the shooting first and then maybe the gunsmithing end much much later. The barrels that Tikka use are all above standard
