Question was posed to me this morning....I figured no better place than right here on CGN for the experienced answers.

I know that the Tikka 3 stocks for the standard s/a and l/a stocks are the same and interchangeable, I did my 243 and my 270 a while back, but does the magnum calibers also swap out with the reg stuff ? ( say a 308 stock interchange with a 7mmRM or 338 or a 300WM )

Thankin alllll you NutZ out there in advance ! Be safe ...Cheers  Kevin

You might see a difference in the bbl channel given the difference in bbl contours. Magnums generally have a heavier bbl.

Pretty sure all sporter weight (including magnum) tikkas share the same barrel profile and stock.
(Not including the non standard models like the arctic and tactical)
But I could certainly be wrong.

Regardless, it is five minutes work to open the barrel channel for a heavier barrel profile, a little longer to go the other way... but other than a slight gap, the smaller barrel profile will be fine in the larger channel.

Hey kev, I’m running a 204 Ruger in a synthetic stock that came off a 338 win mag and had the barrel channel worked on. No issues here bud.
