scroll through past pages of this Precision forum, and you'll see other topics on the T3 Tactical. They may help answer some Q's you might have

thank you all. next time i will check all post before posting someting, it look like i choose a great one. it's not the best but for sure not the worstless.....
which model you have pit ??
is that your dog ??

Our club raffled a Tikka Super Varmint a few months back.
It was in 308 witha 2-12X IOR Valdada Tactical scope.
The Super Varmint is almost the same as the Tactical save for the Picatinny rail
on the T3, the SV is stainless, and the barrel is a 24" on the SV
Thjey are very nice firearms !

From all the people that Ive talked to, they all love the T3. Three of those people sell guns for a living. Im thinking of getting the 308 tacticle myself.

I was leary before I bought mine but these rifles are the real deal!
Very tiney groups all day all night, They are scarry acurate out of the box , I shot a 5 shot group in the .2s this weekend past and 50 shots at 100m were not over .5s and most in the .3s and .4s and believe it or not this was my load development shoot with different bullets and seating depths ? Few members of this board were at the range at the time.
The thing about this T-3 vs my savages, it will even shoot real bad ammo very well, and is not as fussy. But this 308 shoots like a custom PPC gum with the right load.

I was there folks and watched Jason shoot 5 rounds into one ragged hole with one of his loads. That gun does what Tikka says it will!

loaded 178 A-max with 46.0 gr of BLC-2 at a Oal of 2.840 or witha sinclair comp ogive oal of 3.210, would shoot .3s and a few .2s
However I had a 1/2 box of 175 fed GMs factory that held there own at a 100m in the honest .5s and .6s.
I also tries many hand load with 175 smks for i thought they would be better than the A-max, I was wrong. This gun no matter what powder varget,4064,4895,benchmark with a oal, of 3.210 will shoot 1/2to .6s inch groups, with smks no better no worse.
A-max and blc-2 is the ticket however.

I also have my eye on the T3 Tactical. Good to hear that everyone seems to like theirs. Price for a new one seems to be around $1500 and change. Is that right ?

plinker

I shot a few <1/2" groups before my Mcguivered rings loosened off:redface: , now I have a proper solid mount. I bought the .223 version, but am seriously considering the .308 as well......:p

I am fortunate enough to have a 1000M field almost out my door so i can fart around with really long range stuff. The TikTac is a better rifle than i am a shooter at that distance (in 308), although the drop at 1k with 178's made it necessary to shim 20 minutes on the scope.

For anyone that wants an out-of-box f-class gun and doesn't have or can't get easy access to custom stuff, I give this my vote. Bedding the action is the only mod I would suggest.

The brake is a high look-cool factor, but can't be used in F-class.
