Anybody have experience with Tikka rifles? I've been looking at the T3 Tactical model lately. Wondering if anybody has experience, good or bad. Recommendations, warnings, etc. Would be appreciated.

A lot has been written about T3s, run a search. Extremely good value, accurate, slick smooth bolt, etc etc....Maybe one of the only criticisms is the magazine(which is debatable).

Ya the search was the first thing I tried. Believe it or not I didn't get any hits for "T3". When I ran a search on "Tikka" I got a few hits but it lead me to each time the brand name was mentioned. Trust me, I hate asking questions that have probably been answered before. But as I'm learning the search function doesn't work incredibly well sometimes.

I have a Tikka Varmint in 6.5 Swedish and a friend of mine shoots a Tikka Tactical in .308 - both rifles are very accurate right out of the box. Very strong actions, smooth bolts, crisp adjustable triggers and barrels made by Sako - overall a great value for the money. You can't really go wrong getting one (or more!).

I Have had two of them and I assert that they are among the most accurate factory guns out there. My only criticisms of them is the recoil lug being part of the stock, not the action/barrel. It makes customizing them a bit trickier and expensive. The recoil lug design limits the use of after market stocks. I never #####ed about the composite mags because it made them light. I never used the magazine because I found the optimal bullet seating depth made the OAL too long anyway.

The action is incredibly smooth, it has a nice trigger too.

Nice guns.

Hi Myself and my brother both own t3 hunters in .223 and when properly shot with correct loads(if u custum your ammo) shoot extreamly well. Our Rifle Range only goes 200 yards so beyond this distance i dont know. but groupings are tight. and all i can say is that shooting my t3 hunter is like breathing smooth and natural, you will never regret owning one.:dancingbanana:

Wish they made a left-handed version... would love to get my hands on a T3.

I have 2 Tikkas, a T3 and an M695. Both are amazing guns, very accurate and the actions are super smooth. For me the only braw back to the Tikka that I can see is the lack of aftermarket options for them like stocks, etc... I have no complaints about the composite parts and I've used my T3 in -60 temps without any issues at all.

Babzog - the left handed T3's are just now hitting the market (at least in the US). Get your local dealer to put in an order for you now and you might see it before next hunting season (Stoger is notoriously slooooow)

They start at a bit under $700 and go up depending on the variation, finish, etc. I just noticed that Epps is listing a few left handed versions on their web site so I would imagine that other dealers would have them on their shelves as well.
